May's speaker is Richard "Rick" Lach, the California state liaison for the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF). The RAF's mission is "Keeping the legacy of recreational aviation strong by preserving, maintaining and creating public use recreational and backcountry airstrips nationwide". Rick has owned a lodge in Alaska (with a 200 foot landing strip) and is currently the airport manager of Kern Valley Airport (L05). He started Raven Aviation and acquired an STC to convert Piper PA-22s back to taildraggers, and is a Certified Light Sport Repairman and a Rotax technician.
