Captain Robert Meyer (US Army Air Corps Retired ) was one of 6500 WWII glider pilots and one of only twelve that made all of the airborne landings (Normandy, South France, Holland and the Rhine landing). Of the 1300 gliders that went into Holland, the only one that did not have a co-pilot was Captain Meyers. His cargo of land mines was deemed too dangerous to risk the lives of two much-needed pilots . Come hear first hand what it was like to come down at night without the possibility of a go around. When the line was disconnected from the C-47, there was no turning back. (Note: This is a reschedule of the program originally scheduled for the June dinner meeting)
