Peter and Liz Broen. Peter grew up in a homebuilding family in Canada and has flown for over 20 years, having owned a Mooney before selling to buy the Glasair Kit. Liz had a much more traditional upbringing in Michigan and Illinois and had very little experience with general aviation before meeting Peter.
When they started dating in the late 90's, Liz didn't think too much about the airplane project in Peter's garage. She thought it was a nice hobby and she had no idea that aviation would become such a big part of their lives.
They married and Peter finished and finally flew the Glasair. At that point, Liz thought it would be a good idea for her to take an AOPA Pitch Hitters Course. It was there that she met the "Ladies of the DAF". This started the Broen's involvement with the Del Amo Flyers and they haven't looked back.
The Broens keep their Glasair at Torrance airport and enjoy flying it on the various DAF outings, as well as formation flying with friends.
