Founded in 1974, Del Amo Flyers is an aviation-oriented club based in Torrance, California.  We are a socially active group of people who come together for monthly fly-ins and dinner meetings, annual hangar and Christmas parties and other ad-hoc events.

We are always looking for new members.  You do not need to be a pilot or own an aircraft to join - just someone who is interested in flying, aircraft and aviation.  Our membership consists of approximately 100 individuals and families and includes active pilots, student pilots, retired pilots and nonpilots along with their spouses or significant others.  Our member dues are $40 per year (January 1 through December 31).

FlyDel Amo Flyers schedules fly-ins just about every month of the year.  These trips range from short lunch outings to multiday stayovers.  You can view trip reports from prior fly-ins by clicking here and see the schedule for upcoming trips by clicking here.  Even if you don't have your own aircraft, our members often have seats available on their aircraft.  For existing pilots, our fly-ins are a great way of letting you get more use out of your aircraft and your pilot's license and help you to stay proficient.  For aspiring pilots, our fly-ins provide another good reason and motivator to complete your license.  And for non-pilot spouses, the fly-ins provide an opportunity to share the flying experience in a fun, social environment.

ExploreBoth our fly-ins and monthly dinner meeting programs provide educational opportunities that allow you to expand your horizons.  Our fly-ins have included trips to both aviation-related and non-aviation-related museums and historical sites, spectacular natural points of interest, and wine-country tours.  Our dinner meeting programs have included speakers from the FAA, US military, and world-renowned pilots. Although some of of topics can be technical, most of our programs are designed to be of interest to the non-pilot spouse.

MingleWe are a very social group who enjoy flying together and interacting together.  Except for August and December, we hold a dinner meeting (which includes a presentation) every month on the 3rd Wednesday at Palos Verdes Golf Club (3301 Via Campesina, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274). In August we have our annual Hangar Party and in December, our annual Christmas Party. All of our events, fly-ins, dinner meetings, our annual hangar and Christmas parties, are designed to provide a fun, social environment.
