At our June meeting we were treated to the latest installment in our DAF Safety Video presentation series. The film, with captioned clarifications and comedy, helped us become more comfortable in flying around and through time portals. We learned how to adapt to and confront the ensuing temporal paradox predicaments and to deal with passenger pandemonium. Not to mention what parts of the anatomy to lock when performing emergency aerial maneuvers in Boeing aircraft. Some members of the audience took no chances and donned aluminum headgear (good luck with that).
As Michael Altshuler said, “
The bad news is time flies, the good news is you are the pilot.” Thanks to Larry Chapman for piloting this fun filled and informative program!

The May dinner meeting featured Dr. Fred Bongard, Board Certified Surgeon, AME, pilot (and did he mention he’s a Bruin?). He covered flight physiology, separating myth from fact on the effects of common drugs and illness on pilots and passengers. And with an array of charts, graphs and equations, encouraged oxygen use by pilots above 10,000 feet. Thanks Dr. Fred for keeping us flying healthfully!
