The speaker for our September 16 dinner meeting is Mike McCaskill, the creator of “The Hope-full Devil”, a homemade video documentary that tells a story of bravery and sacrifice in WWII. The genesis of the project was Mike’s discovery of some 16mm film canisters in his father’s closet. The film was raw footage of the rescue of his father and crew after ditching their B-29. While a wartime ditching and rescue is already an interesting story, seeing his own father being rescued in Technicolor made the story a compelling drama for Mike.
